Yesterday upon the stair
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
Oh how I wish he'd go away.
-Hugh Mearns
The stairs, and just about everywhere else. It's nice to know one picture has sparked off so much discussion, and i'm looking at it wondering whence comes the substance for analysis. Even if it's right, it's still irrelevant. But. The stairs.
There hasn't been any word of parents coming down, and i doubt there ever will be. She's gotten what she wants from us although she deserves not a drop of it, and that's okay. It costs me nothing. I don't know if it's about turning the other cheek as much as it is about wanting to be more dignified than her. If she were a J1 i'd have looked past it.
Shrek 2 was no disappointment. I was afraid it'd suffer the Curse of the Sequel and be a flop, but it was every bit as surprising as the first. Puss in Boots has the same face as ET my cat, and so now i laugh when i look at her. The creators are definitely cat-owners; the evil, the intelligence, the boredom, the superiority, the condescension, the cuteness, the compactness, the agility, expressed in tail, ears, back, paws, belly and eyes.
Quotes i will remember from this week:
Ivan: I realised that if i become a pilot...i don't ever have to become an air steward!
Paris: As long as the Trojans hold on to the sword of Troy, there will be hope!
Achilles: Immortality! It's yours! Take it!
and Achilles: You give me peace in a lifetime of war.
Ms Lim to Diane: Oh one day the two of us should wear this together, then no one will be able to tell us apart!
DJ on 92.4 fm: you will have known by now that that provided the melody line for eric carmen's "All By Myself"... piano concerto no. 2, second movement, by Sergei Rachmaninov.
C: Yes, of course.
It has been a long week. When dharma comes back we will all dress up and dine at original sin. Till then i will be doing the most dreadful things and wondering why i'm in jc. I could use a surprise.
