My friends these days are the things I create. Like God in the garden of Eden when He first created it, I suppose. I check on my friends and see how they grow. I fill my room with them; they stare at me from stickytape and shelves and blinking from my external hard disk. This week I preferred being in a quiet room at night with them than looking for company where it might not be. I guess this is it then. I've become the melancholic art school undergraduate cliche. No, no no, i need to get out!

Bong is having her birthday, and so I get to splurge on a school term hongkong holiday. It was a sudden decision, all the better to thrill us with. In hongkong there's no such thing as too familiar--this time I go as my own itinerary-planner, which makes everything new. How we've grown. We used to play airplane in the hallway outside her room. She was the wife and I was the husband, which meant she got to wear the heart-shaped glasses and I had the blue ones. We had fake passports and one luggage. Even that was exciting.
