Mongolia and Beijing in a couple of days' time. Two places I've never gone. I will crawl out of my suitcase and be entirely raw for ten days, all eyes and diary musings. I think I've been blessed a lot, to be born in the midst of travel, to travel and travel before I knew what a home country was. There's a reason I'm being pushed out to mongolia, and i'm going to find it.

In this photo I look all of twelve years old. That's seven-year-old Alex in my silhouette, taking a photo of herself and not knowing that she'll only appear as one of multiple exposures. And so epitomizing the "don't think, just shoot" lomo attitude. Maybe in ten years' time she'll read up on vintage holgas and realize that she played with one in her childhood playground, and realize that she overexposed most of the shots, and then remember my vague kind outline with some fondness.
