In short, I am thrilled to be out of the house at last and in an office, with office friends and a desk and things to do other than google obscure things. As much as knowing which korean stars have had plastic surgery is important, there are better ways to spend one's time.

I'm now in the company of books. Not designing book covers (yet, with fingers crossed), but all the same happy to be with books. I realize it's the industry, not the task, that is important in looking for a job. I wouldn't be happy making a catalog of washing detergent, but I'm happy making a catalog of books.

Today I pulled up a whole stack of help books for teenage girls and took my time choosing one for my fifteen-year-olds. Sometimes after describing a book ("There are only four important decisions in life.") I will speed-read it to find out what the four things are. My parents are amused at the level of knowledge I've accumulated in a few days.

I still don't know what i want to be when I grow up, but I'm happy doing this until I do. By december, then.
