Hammock Day.

A beautiful day to set up a hammock in the shade. How hammock-friendly is Singapore? Is this garden city welcoming of the true park lifestyle, or are we still expected to be city folk among the greenery?

We tested it out in this park, K and I, right in the middle of the CBD. We would have set up in Raffles Place, but trees and poles were too far apart.

So Tanjong Pagar it was. People stared as if he was chopping down a tree.

Or as is typical of Singaporeans, pretended to be blase about it. Pity we missed the morning commute.

Bumped into an old classmate!

Very peaceful, rather hot, but a hammock doesn't seem too out of place here.

Or not--this perceptive caucasian found it intriguing enough to quietly take some photos.

Our next location attracted a lot more attention. Can you guess where it is?

These ladies were the only ones who made conversation with the strange hammock man. They asked where he bought his nice hammock, and why doesn't he call his girlfriend to come join him? They didn't know she was skulking around from afar.

Did you guess right?
