The format for my MF post is unintentionally larger than all the others, making it look like I'm fired up about that topic. Not true.
Anyway, I saw a special little old lady just now. The front half of her scalp was completely shiny and bald. But the back of her head was full of hair, and that hair she clipped neatly with one clip on each side. So that, you know, it wouldn't get into her face. Ah, if you're vain, you're vain no matter what, no matter when. It's comforting to know that a woman can lose her looks and still care about being prettier. Emphasis on the "ier"--vanity is always about the possibility of improvement.
Had a weekend that was more tiring than restful, but I'm in a good mood today because of it. There was kids' camp training on saturday. Usually it's with the first training session of the year that I get into the RFKC mode again. But these two years it seems that the kids' camp has been my constant frame of mind, what with my final year project and japan. So training was a familiar comfort to return to.
Then there were fifteen minutes of rugby sevens (white-man's testosterone festival), Vengeance (surreal and comical HK triad film that was just strange at times), and kayaking yesterday at Sentosa's new Azzura. It is amazing what the human body can accomplish when it needs to. Despite longing for sleep the whole day, I managed to make frantic kayaking escapes with Lena from Devious Joys's army who was intent on capsizing us. We screamed and rowed from shore to shore, scattering shoreline swimmers.
And--the yeah yeah yeahs are coming in January! If it were a free standing event I would book the best tickets immediately, because I know from experience that I am fully capable of getting myself a standing position front and centre. (And mad enough to do it.) But alas, it's in the Esplanade, at $148 for best tier seats. We'll have to consider this carefully. But imagine getting ready for it! Red lipstick for sure, and shoes to dance in.
