And just like that, French classes are over. We've never had as much fun as a class as we did preparing for oral in the hallway today. I was just starting to like them all a lot, and it's over. They're not the kind of people I normally get to mix with--indonesian engineering students and straight-faced boys who say the funniest things (who'd have guessed from their faces in the canteen?)-- but i'm glad i was thrown into the midst of them and stirred about. To think that I only took French because I missed the subject registration period and Malay classes were full. I can now converse about simple things in French. Although everyone was stumped today when the examiner asked "why do you like Singapore?" because we haven't learnt the French word for "because".

This is a good month. As if to make up for the ghastly first two months of the year. I no longer drop dead by 4 pm, I've found nice places to sit on the floor in school, I have a large circle and a smaller circle, and I remembered who I was in my assignments this time. And surprising things have been happening. One of the surprises today was almost frightening, though. I must take note of the people around me everywhere I go.
