The most touching thing was seeing everybody dress up. The girls came to class in dresses and heels "for you", my grandmother wore all her jewelry, my parents were all showered and ready to go, the boys were in shirts. It was like my wedding.

Not too long ago we were sitting in menotti and i was saying i didn't know what to do for the exhibition. And I wouldn't have known what to do if not for all that happened since that night--sitting in the hotel lobby, having perplexing conversations, being inconsistently fragile with knees drawn up to my chest. Credit for inspiration is rightly due, and someday i swear i'll make sure the world knows too.
