let lemons be angry

This is Louise. Fashion blog surfers will know her as a fashion student in Paris who has shown up in every noted fashion blog. I used to idolise her because of her glasses and careless poses. But something went wrong, very wrong, when she started her own blog and documented her daily outfits and inspiration behind them.

Maybe I was turned off that by writing this she was saying "yes, i'm special and i photowhore." Or maybe I suddenly saw that it was all fictioned day to day. For all I know, all the people in my My People folder don't actually have signature styles, but flit from goth to cute to corporate when not being stumbled upon by photographers, their looks determined by effort rather than the plain outflow of lifestyle.

Does a person have to be obliviously stylish to be truly stylish? No, that isn't very fair to them. But I gravitate towards the people I think don't pay attention to the clothes they throw on in the morning. Effortlessness is my priority in all things. So the debunking of the effortless louise myth was one of my life's greatest disappointments.

Effortlessness is what I aspire to. There's nothing more ironic.
