The supporters' sale started yesterday, and the usually empty book showroom was filled with all kinds of people. The students who come all the way to buy books make me smile. Their baskets are filled with pretty bibles, materials for their youth group, or pencils for their sunday school kids. So young, with so much heart. They must be feeling warm from their purchases.
There was a building power failure yesterday, and customers had to leave their baskets behind with their names and go away for lunch first. Technology is swallowing us whole, not allowing us to pay with cash, or write down what was bought with a pen.
