For four years I learnt I was not good at what I do. My lines aren't straight, I can't cut properly, my fingers get glued together, I leave holes in things. My new year's resolution is to say a big HECK to all that and do it anyway.

No more will my lack of neatness set me back. I spent this Christmas making gifts for my friends. Some pieces are bigger than others, some corners aren't perfectly rounded, the paint got smeared, my sewing sucks, the paper weight isn't heavy enough, but I don't care anymore. I'm still going to make myself-and my friends-happy with the semi-skills I have.

Nothing gets accomplished by waiting and planning for perfection. Those four years of wrong thinking made me afraid of creating anything, lest it be snapped up by the hungry ghosts of Viscom Present. I'd forgotten how to do craft for the joy of craft itself. NO more. 2010 brings empowerment to the crooked line!
