Last Wednesday I was at NIE to witness k graduate with a Diploma in School Counselling.
If he was one of the youngest in his batch, then I must have been the youngest supporter.
It takes a bit of getting used to, being in this new supportive role, my greatest responsibility being to choose an appropriate dress and take photos at the right moment.

We grow into different roles, we fill in the gaps.
We meet God every morning and ask, "what is my job today?"
That is how I get through this weeks of waiting.
It is very free-ing, being available to fill any role on any given day.

Too shy to take photos after the ceremony, we adjourned to my lake and propped the camera up on an electrical box. "Hold the certificate up," I said.
We looked at the photo.
"Not up so high!"

And there you have it, a very formal graduation shot in front of trees, the two of us out of focus.

Shoes that try to be grown up, and Hulk socks.
