Just to mix it up a little, let's have a post about the details of this morning, shall we?
I woke up not sure if i should go to class. The mother poked her head into my room and offered to take me to buy dolls for my project before sending me to school. I later learnt she felt bad after making me draw the adventures of Superhero for her school project. So out of the house i got.
We went to one little "shopping centre" that my dad loves because he is a supporter of all heartland efforts. Everything was closed, so my mother and i had breakfast instead. It was already 9 and class was starting, but i had enough faith in the friendly relations the class has with joyce to trust that being late was okay.
I swung by the house again to pick up notes i'd left behind. I always leave something at home when i rush out. The record number of times i've gone back for stuff was five.
Then we went by the street 51 market to look for the dolls. The market is incredibly exciting, a riot of auntie clothes and vases and shocking pink flowers, bags, fake barbies, curtains, towels, shoes, hammers, toilet bowl brushes, cny decorations, medicine and whatnot hanging from all the ceilings. It's huge and noisy, but everybody moves about in a slow daze. I found my baby dolls quite quickly, $4.90 for a baby doll in a bathtub, complete with a towel, showerhead, mirror, comb and dog. Yes, dog. I shall go back to buy something ugly and wonderful for lynnette.
I finally got to class at 9:50, and so that lesson went by quite fast. At 12 pm I rushed up to loan a camera, and sat on the tall waiting stool admiring the big glassy dry cabinets that looked like ovens. Then I ran to hall 8 to look for a dumpster, and spent the next hour or so kneeling all over the bin room floor taking photos of my baby dolls by the trash. Finally i rushed back to the computer lab and did up the typography and translation for the banner, and printed it for submission at 2 pm.
The point of all these details: I knew I'd enjoy making this banner, because of the baby dolls i'd have to buy.
