i have to draw like this.

Looks so contemporary but you'd never guess.

He was abused as a child and later was imprisoned for child abuse as well. These drawings were done in a psychiatric ward, where he spent the rest of his adult life. He was violent and hallucinatory.

Interesting that my work for my fyp involves a lot of detail as well, and I was drawn to his work before I knew that he was an abused child. hmm.
